Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to oversee our service department at City Hospital, Nottingham. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and electrical engineering knowledge, ensuring that our team delivers exceptional service to our clients. This role involves managing daily operations, providing guidance to staff, and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective service strategies.
Temporary placement up to 6 months
Responsibilities
- The post holder will be responsible for providing effective, operational estates management services to the Nottingham University NHS Trust portfolio ensuring that the Trust operates within all relevant regulatory, advisory, compliance, financial and service delivery frameworks.
- Co-ordinate the day-to-day planning and delivery of operational and maintenance functions, primarily but not exclusively for engineering, services and buildings. This will involve day to day management of the in-house maintenance team and specialist contractors or service providers that the department relies upon to provide a normal hours service and out of hours emergency service.

The main duties will be looking after our electrical technical service contracts such as:
      Auto doors
      UPS/IPSÂ
      Lightening protection
      Roller shutter doors
      Nurse call systems
      Emergency lighting
Requirements
- A professional qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in electrical estates management within a healthcare or large-scale environment, preferably previous NHS experience.
- Strong of key engineering specialities (generators, electrical testing, fire alarms, BMS, ventilation, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer interaction.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
