We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with children and young people with challenging behaviour in a school setting in Hucknall. This role is temporary to permanent and full-time, with an immediate start date.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support the education and development of children and young people with challenging behaviour. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1-2-1 support to students with challenging behaviour, using effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage participation in learning activities
- Collaborating with teaching staff and external professionals to develop tailored learning plans for students, monitoring progress and behaviour, and reporting any concerns
- Supporting the social and emotional development of students, promoting self-esteem and confidence
- Encouraging and motivating students to engage in learning, providing additional support where necessary
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour is essential
- Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
- A patient and resilient attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
