Our client, Nottinghamshire County Council, is seeking a social worker for its adult social care MASH (multi-agency safeguarding hub).
This is a desk-based role which does not include visits. It is predominantly home-based but you would ideally work from the office once per week.
The role will involve the following:
- Complete first line of enquiries into safeguarding concerns, should it be suspected an adult has experienced abuse or neglect within Nottinghamshire (in line with and establishing safeguarding thresholds).
- Progress cases to full Section 42 Enquiries (completed by locality teams)/ or close as proportionate.
- Complete end to end Safeguarding enquires where a face to face/ visit is not required.
- Cause others to investigate matters relating to safeguarding, where thresholds are met and proportionate to do so.
- Work in a fast-paced environment completing between 3 – 5 first line of enquiries per day.
- Be part of the continual service development within the MASH.
- Multiagency partnership working to include working closely with MASH Police & MASH Health.
- Ensure work is completing in line with Safeguarding principles of the Care Act and Making Safeguarding Personal.
Requirements of the role:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Social Work England registered
- Must have demonstrable knowledge of adult safeguarding, thresholds, risk assessment and decision-making
- Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Must have good understanding of legislation and guidance relevant to the role (e.g., Care Act Safeguarding Principles, Making Safeguarding Personal & Mental Capacity Act).
