Duties

To lead a professional team delivering strategic asset planning and management activities to an identified portfolio of asset types, projects and Services. Supporting the ongoing delivery of asset review, property change projects, implementation of the Council’s corporate landlord model and advising on property solutions.

To be an expert advisor in the area of responsibility and to undertake complex and routine professional work encompassing commercial negotiations, asset appraisal, business analysis, liaison with Service departments/stakeholders and the design of property change solutions.

To provide leadership and line management to a team of professional surveyors and support colleagues in the delivery of holistic asset planning and management activities to an agreed portfolio of asset types, Service departments and bespoke projects. Line management responsibility to include for training & development, formal appraisal, welfare, health & safety considerations and performance management.

To support the Strategic Asset Manager in the preparation, development and implementation of the Council’s Corporate Property Strategy, associated policies and action plans etc. to include communicating a clear vision for the future of property assets within the Organisation and ensuring alignment with Corporate Plan objectives. Support the development of associated Commercial asset strategies.

To assist in the management and monitoring of the strategic performance of the Council’s assets and the development of associated key performance indicators.

To ensure that all property within the area of responsibility is safe and compliant

Qualifications & Experience

MRICS with post qualification experience suitable to the level of the post.
