SDUK's brands include the Nations favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products.
After significant financial investment from group, leading to the expansion of the site with 11 additional lines now up and running, we are looking to hire an engineer to the support the shifts and play a key role in the continued evolution of the engineering department and strategies as we continue to learn evolving the PPMs and SOPs.
In addition to the multiple packaging lines, this position will also have responsibility the large warehouse and storage areas.
This is a hands-on role, where your responsibilities will initially be working reactive maintenance requirements with a largely mechanical focus, though you will also need to have demonstratable experience with electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding.
We will also be looking to utilise your experience working with a range of equipment to transition that knowledge to the broad and diverse lines we have on site, where we package our various cheese brands and retailer-own brands which we produce.
This is a shift role days and nights.
YOULL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTERBY
- Maintaining multiple lines consisting of elevators/lifts, conveyors, flow wrappers, cutters, packers, slicers, graters, formers, sealers, dispensers, robotic arms, and more.
- Optimising line performance to meet and exceed KPIs in the areas of equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Ensuring appropriate information is captured on plant performance, completing all documentation work and keeping up to date with SOP and PPM changes.
- Completing maintenance activities to drive a predictive approach to tasks and prevent equipment failures.
- Identifying, documenting, and driving continuous improvement opportunities and driving efficiencies.
YOURE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE
- An engineer with an HNC or HND background (mechanical or electrical bias).
- Able to demonstrate hands-on reactive experience with a broad range of equipment and machinery within a production and/or manufacturing environment.
- A proven track record of identifying, documenting, and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
- Able to work within a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Able to demonstrate a positive attitude towards continuous personal learning and development and working with others across teams/departments.
- Experienced working within a changing and evolving environment would be a benefit.
- Comfortable using CMMS and able to interpret data to increase plant efficiency and identify top loss.
