A modern, forward thinking and flexible accountancy firm are hiring a key job role, commutable from Oakham, Stamford, Leicester, Corby and Melton Mowbray for a Trainee to Semi-Senior Accountant with an employer offering hybrid working, parking, strong holidays and perks, plus a friendly and supportive team.

Salary will depend on experience, the team is well-balanced between experience and those training, with great offices, parking on-site and they are flexible on hybrid working, with them typically wanting 50% office based or more. Working hours can also be flexible within reason.

Responsibilities:

  • Tracking financial transactions for a number of clients, ensuring postings are accurate and entries can be explained.
  • Reconciliation of bank and credit card transactions.
  • Making supplier and payroll payments using Telleroo
  • Assist in preparation of VAT returns.
  • Assist with other bookkeeping duties.
  • Develop working relationships with clients.
  • Use excellent written and oral communication.
  • General administration tasks.
  • Developing an understanding of the Company’s methods and standards of work required.
  • Becoming familiar with the Company’s administrative and office procedures.
  • Becoming familiar with software used by the Company, incl. Xero and Dext.
  • Take on additional projects / responsibilities as directed.
  • Fulfil measures of effectiveness and meet competencies set for role.

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic bookkeeping and /or accounting experience.
  • Keen to learn.
  • Team player.
  • Problem solving.
