The Role

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Teaching Assistant to provide support to engage pupils in learning and act as a positive role model to increase attendance in school. This role is essential in supporting students who require a different approach to learning. The ideal candidate will have a proactive and creative mindset, using innovative strategies to engage young people and promote positive educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons tailored to individual needs.

  • Foster strong, positive relationships with students to support their social, emotional, and academic development.

  • Implement creative and practical learning activities that encourage participation and motivation.

  • Manage behaviour effectively using restorative and positive de-escalation techniques.

  • Work collaboratively with other staff, parents, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to student support.

  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles.

  • Promote resilience, self-confidence, and independence in learners.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with young people in an educational or alternative provision setting.

  • A background in education, youth work, or a related field.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to inspire and motivate disengaged learners.

  • Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning and delivery.

  • An understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • Relevant qualifications (Teaching, Youth Work, Coaching, or equivalent) desirable but not essential.
