Role: Assembly Operative

Location: Offord Cluny, Cambridgeshire

Hours: Mon - Fri 7.30am - 4.30pm

Salary: £25,396 (negotiable depending on experience)

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a detail orientated assembly operative to join our clients successful team. Some knowledge of electrical or gas systems along with assembly experience would be preferred. Due to location you will need your own transport.

Duties of an assembly operative:

  • Assembly Operations: Assemble components and systems according to technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Electrical/Gas Systems Knowledge: Utilize expertise in electrical circuits or gas flow systems to assemble and troubleshoot components.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect parts and assemblies for defects or deviations from specifications. Ensure all products meet safety and quality standards.
  • Tool Usage: Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment required for assembly.
  • Testing and Calibration: Conduct functional tests on assembled systems to verify performance and reliability.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly operations, test results, and quality checks.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to workplace safety standards, including the safe handling of electrical components and gas systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, quality control teams, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.

 

What we would like from you:

  • Proven experience as an assembler or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, or gas systems is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment used in assembly processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and ability to work with small components.
  • Basic understanding of safety regulations related to electrical and gas systems.
