Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sales Executive to work for our client at their facility in the West Midlands, the role is an exciting new opportunity working within their Oil and Gas Sales Department, reporting to the Sales Manager.

The role will be heavily involved in the professional promotion and sale of the companies products across their Oil & Gas North Sea division, and will be managing a portfolio of accounts as well as taking enquiries and calls from new customers.

The role would require sales experience, in the selling of speciality steels, along with needing an excellent understanding of the business requirements and the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues, customers and suppliers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a good understanding of the full range of companies products and services as well as having an overview of the products and services sold by the other divisions.
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts to hit and exceed specified targets
  • Accurately take verbal enquiries
  • Swift and accurate turnaround from enquiry to quotation.
  • Chases quotation to win orders and if the order isn’t placed ascertain why
  • Keep regular contact with assigned customers via telephone and email and potential to make calls to develop new business.
  • Visit key customers with the external sales team if and when required.
  • Negotiates with customers, suppliers and colleagues at all levels
  • Accurately and correctly input sales orders and sub contract work onto the computer system in a timely manner
  • Resolve any queries or problems as speedily as possible
  • Keep your line manager and colleagues aware of anything major in the pipeline, good or bad
  • Keep accurate specific customer information up to date by using Salesforce.
  • Maintain stock levels in line with company guidelines and customer requirements
  • Understand group products and offer if there is a customer need
  • Follow the training you received when using any work items given to you
  • Take reasonable care of your own and other people’s health and safety
  • Cooperate with your employer on health and safety
  • Tell someone (supervisor, or health and safety representative) if you think the work or inadequate precautions are putting anyone’s health and safety at serious risk
  • Support the company with environmental initiatives and any compliance issues

Minimum Qualifications

Education:           School GCSE’s and/ or apprentice

Experience: Sales experience in Oil and Gas, in particular Special Steels and Nickel based alloys.

Key account management with technical sales experience, particularly with releases and specifications. Previous SAP and SalesForce experience preferred.

Physical Demands

35 hours a week, exact timing to be agreed.  However, you may often need to work extra hours but there will be some flexibility on the exact working times.

Your role will be mainly office based, although you may be travelling to visit other companies or to attend training, meetings and conferences.
