Prospero Teaching is recruiting on behalf of a fantastic primary school in Oldbury, who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with high SEMH needs.Key Responsibilities: · Support a Year 3 pupil on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored assistance in the classroom. · Assist with emotional regulation and therapeutic support, helping the pupil manage their SEMH challenges. · Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement individualised learning plans.· Create a positive and inclusive environment that promotes the pupils well-being and engagement with learning. · Support the pupils social and emotional development, helping them navigate peer relationships and classroom dynamics. · Maintain clear communication with parents and staff regarding the pupils progress and emotional needs.SEN Teaching Assistant Contract/Position Details Location -Oldbury Position - SEMH Teaching Assistant Type of work - 1:1 SEN Support - Year 3 Start date - ASAP Likely Duration - Ongoing long-term Position end date - July 2025 Contract type - Temporary Full-time/Part-time - Ful time Minimum rate of pay - GBP90 Hours - 8:40 - 3:30(term time only) Supply TA Experience, Training, and Qualifications It is essential that you have SEN Teaching assistant experience, along with a relevant qualification Level 2 or Level 3 Qualification in Childcare/TA Experience working with children with SEMH, autism, or other learning and emotional needs. A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine interest in supporting children's emotional well-being. Excellent communication skills, both with children and colleagues. Ability to manage challenging behaviours with a calm and supportive approach. Knowledge of emotional regulation techniques and therapeutic support strategies is desirable. Up-to-date Safeguarding training is imperative; you can undertake a free course with Prospero Teaching if you have not completed a Safeguarding course in the last 12 months.
