We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. We are working with a SEN school in the Sandwell borough. This role involves supporting children with special educational needs, including those with physical impairments, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, including those with physical impairments, adapting learning materials as required.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, adapting learning materials as required.

  • Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring students feel supported and engaged.

  • Support students with personal care needs (if required).

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.

  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.

  • Encourage independence and confidence in students with additional needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (desirable but not essential).

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Qualification) are desirable but not essential.

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
