Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
As the Supply Chain & Purchasing Lead, you will:
- Utilise SAP to manage MRP processes, including setting up reorder points and maintaining accurate lead times from suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales Team to analyse customer forecasts and identify growth products not captured by MRP.
- Place transactional purchase orders with suppliers and monitor order delivery dates, taking proactive measures to ensure on-time delivery (OTD).
- Foster strong communication with suppliers and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Manage orders and liaise effectively with subcontract suppliers.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A solid understanding of the metals industry's commercial aspects, including pricing, market trends, and supplier dynamics.
- Advanced experience with MRP systems and processes.
- Previous experience in supply chain roles with a focus on planning strategies.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting and cost management skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with senior management for additional funding when necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with SAP is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in roles such as Production Co-ordinator, Supply Chain Co-ordinator, Buyer, Procurement Planner, or similar positions.
