Role & Client Overview:

As an Employability Tutor, you will work closely with learners to develop their employability skills and support them in gaining the qualifications needed to enter the job market. You will provide guidance and tailored support, ensuring learners meet the required standards and are fully prepared for their next steps into employment or further education.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective employability sessions.
  • Ensure lesson plans are prepared and linked to overarching Schemes of Work.
  • Embed Functional Skills English, Maths, and ICT within all learning sessions.
  • Support learners in developing workplace skills, vocational knowledge, and personal development.
  • Assess learner work regularly and effectively, ensuring compliance with awarding body standards.
  • Ensure all learners receive individualised support to progress successfully.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to support learner achievement.
  • Ensure discipline is maintained in all learning environments, including virtual classrooms.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Work towards company KPIs and Individual Performance Plan targets.
  • Ensure compliance with funding body and Ofsted requirements.
  • Implement Safeguarding and Every Child Matters policies at all times.
  • Ensure Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) policies are embedded in all aspects of teaching.
  • Contribute to learner voice forums, surveys, and curriculum review sessions.
  • Accurately maintain learner records and progress reports.

Collaboration & Development

  • Work as part of a team to enhance delivery and share best practices.
  • Attend team meetings, curriculum development sessions, and standardisation meetings.
  • Support the development of resources and teaching materials.
  • Cover for absent staff as required.
  • Support learners with career progression opportunities and next steps.

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

Essential:

  • Relevant vocational experience in Employability, Business, Customer Service, or a related field.
  • Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification (or evidence of occupational competence).
  • PTLLS or equivalent Level 3 Teaching Qualification.
  • TAQA or A1 Assessing Qualification (or willingness to work towards).
  • Level 2 Literacy, Numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable:

  • Full Teaching Qualification (Cert Ed, DTLLS, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Full TAQA or V1 Internal Quality Assurance qualification.
  • IAG (Information, Advice & Guidance) qualification.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
