We have a fantastic opportunity for two Warm Homes Support Officers at Oldham Council, this is a full-time temporary role for the next 5 months, with the possibility of extension.

What is the role?

Oldham Council are looking for two Warm Homes Support Officers, to provide effective and comprehensive business support, working as part of the Warm Homes Oldham team, and to contribute to excellent service delivery through the provision of more specialist/technical administration duties including liaison with other Council departments.

What are your responsibilities?

  • To take overall management responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the home and staff to ensure that the home meets the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality standards.
  • Deal with general enquires in regards Warm Homes Oldham and Cost of Living support.
  • To identify how Warm Homes Oldham and the Cost-of-Living support schemes can help customers in relation to keeping warm, healthy, financially stable and how people can be helped or assisted.
  • Respond to referrals and keep them updated.
  • Make appointments for Council Officers to visit residents where required.
  • To make informed decisions on whether to refer customers for further help from the various schemes available and maintain and update records and provide accountability for each referral.
  • Respond courteously and promptly to all customer queries and complaints and ensure the Manager is informed.

What skills do you Need?

  • Must have recent experience of working as a Warm Homes Support Officer, and or Housing Officer, for the local authority or housing association.
  • Strong IT Skills, as you will be using Microsoft Office and internal council IT systems
  • Excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to the public, other members of staff and managers.
  • Knowledge of housing legislations
  • Hybrid role with a maximum of 3 days in the office
  • You will need to be available to work between Xmas and New Year
