The School and Role

Do you have experience as a Sports Coach or a Teaching Assistant supporting within schools? Have you supported young people from difficult backgrounds?

A specialist school in Oldham is seeking a School Sports Assistant with a passion for engaging children in physical education and a desire to use sports and activities as a tool to aid motivation, confidence, and emotional resilience.

A School Sports Assistant will engage with pupils aged between 11-16 years with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs. Classroom support would also be required, you will need to be adaptable and willing to assist in all areas of the childrens learning and development.

The desired School Sports Assistant will:

  • Have a positive mindset to inspire children through sport.
  • Have relevant experience delivering sports to young people.
  • You will need to be resilient, empathetic, patient and not take things too personally.
  • Have relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
