Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Oldham. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of learning needs, helping to create a positive and inclusive environment that fosters growth and achievement. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN in a classroom setting, providing tailored assistance to ensure their individual learning needs are met.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement lesson plans and adapt learning materials to suit the needs of students.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with varying abilities.
  • Help students with personal care and daily routines as required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and assist with classroom management.
  • Assist with the development of educational resources and activities that support student engagement and learning.
  • Observe and monitor students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to support the overall wellbeing and development of each child.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with learning disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
