Reed are supporting MioCare (Made in Oldham Care), an Oldham Council owned company providing care and support service, in their recruitment to a varied People Manager position. 

This role is pivotal in providing high-quality operational workforce support and ensuring best practice people management across the organisation.

You will be joining a growing care organisation and will work closely with Oldham Council colleagues to contribute significantly to MioCare's 2024-27 strategic plan (#FutureFocus), as well as input into their Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

Day to Day of the role:
  • Provide professional advice and support on complex HR issues, including change management and TUPE.
  • Monitor Employee Relations casework and identify areas requiring managerial development.
  • Coach managers to enhance their interpersonal and communication skills for managing sensitive people issues.
  • Lead specific projects contributing to the Workforce Strategy in collaboration with the SLT.
  • Make key decisions on workforce practice, drafting recommendations based on robust intelligence and best practice.
  • Deliver organisational change programmes to support the transformation agenda.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ideally Chartered membership of the CIPD or equivalent, or evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Senior-level HR experience in a large, complex organisation.
  • Extensive experience in developing and delivering customer-focused HR policies.
  • Experience in leading people-related cost efficiency and change programmes.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, employment law. Exposure to local government functions would be advantageous but not essential.
