Our client has been working with the nation’s leading retailers to create and deliver market leading and innovative consumer products.

They’re now seeking a junior product designer to join their team in crafting visually appealing designs for various exciting projects such as toys, arts and craft, stationery, soft toys plus much more. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to grow and develop their skills in a dynamic and fast paced working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and modify design artwork for a range of products from soft toys, to stationery and arts and crafts.
  • Prepare and check files suitable for manufacture.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and techniques.
  • Use the Adobe Creative Suite proficiently.
  • Support and learn from other designers.
  • Keep up to date with design technologies and best practices.
  • Working collaboratively with a team of buyers, merchandisers and QC to develop concepts for new products.
  • Use your creativity and expertise identifying trends within the market to produce commercial and trend-led designs.
  • Understanding specific retailer requirements
  • Producing artworks tailored for a range of different customers and leading retailers.
  • Problem solving for any issues that arise internally for a solution before approaching the customer.
  • Willingness to assist colleagues in other departments during peak times.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Suitable for university/college leaver or someone with 1-2 years industry experience and a desire to learn from and progress within a team of experienced brand and packaging designers
  • Ideas focused with an understanding of commerciality to ensure solutions are achievable
  • Capable of working on own brand and license brands and following guidelines whilst pushing the boundaries to achieve the best possible solution
  • Capable of taking a concept from brainstorming through to full and final print ready artwork
  • Good knowledge of Apple Mac and Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in all design work.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, consistently working hard and diligently.
  • Adaptive to changing project requirements and open to incorporating feedback and suggestions.
  • Possesses excellent teamwork skills, effectively collaborating with colleagues and suppliers to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent communication skills - confident speaking to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to establish, develop and maintain relationships with professionalism.
  • Organisation and prioritisation skills, with an exceptional eye for detail and ability to work independently and manage workloads efficiently.
  • Highly motivated, creative and eager to conceptualise new designs.
  • Proactive and solution driven individual who uses initiative and thrives on having responsibility and ownership.
  • Positive and committed person who loves a varied working day and is involved in many different projects.
