Reed Procurement & Supply Chain are currently working in partnership with a dynamic and growing SME construction business dedicated to delivering high-quality projects. The team is passionate about innovation, sustainability, and excellence in construction. Currently we are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Buyer to join this exciting business and help deliver business goals.

Job Description: As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for overseeing all material and hire requirements for the business. You will ensure cost control throughout the procurement process and manage delivery logistics to ensure timely and efficient project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the procurement of all materials and equipment required for construction projects
  • Manage hire requirements, ensuring the availability of necessary tools and machinery
  • Implement and maintain cost control measures to optimize procurement budgets
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts and secure the best terms
  • Monitor and manage delivery logistics to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
  • Collaborate with project managers and site teams to understand material needs and timelines
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and inventory levels
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement and supply chain
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to improve procurement processes

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager in the construction industry (or similar)
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Knowledge of procurement software and tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred)
