Transport/Works Coordinator

Location: OldhamSalary: £40,000 - £45,000 (DOE) + Benefits

The Opportunity:Our client is looking for a Transport/Works Coordinator to join the team. In this pivotal role, you will manage and coordinate transportation operations and works projects, ensuring efficient delivery of goods and services. You will bring exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities while maintaining our commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan daily production activities during morning meetings, ensuring alignment with delivery dates and sales targets.
  • Process new orders and schedule jobs as they come in, adjusting timelines as necessary.
  • Communicate with customers to book jobs and reschedule deliveries as needed.
  • Address complaints, coordinating rectifications as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Organize daily transport bookings and prepare delivery schedules for drivers.
  • Complete loading checklists for next-day deliveries and oversee loading schedules with yard staff.
  • Liaise with production and external transport companies to coordinate loading times.
  • Resolve on-site transport issues promptly.
  • Update the sales sheet daily to keep the team informed on monthly sales progress.
  • Schedule and oversee the distribution of materials.
  • Manage planners to ensure delivery dates are met, maintaining flexibility for adjustments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in a similar role, preferably in a logistics, production, or works coordination environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (essential); additional qualifications in logistics or project management (desirable).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of transport regulations and works project planning.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach.
  • Full UK driving license (preferred).

Renumeration:

  • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
  • Holidays: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:30
  • Friday: 07:00 - 15:30
