Skills Advisor

Our client is a leading provider of business support and finance in the region, who help to create jobs and grow the local economy.

They are now looking to add a Skills Advisor to their team, whowill assist with the delivery of Future Growth Programme, brokering relationships between businesses and HE/FE institutions/ private training providers, promoting development of business skills capability across Essex.

The successful candidate will work with businesses wishing to address the skills gaps and shortages impacting their sustainability and profitability, relationship managing a portfolio of clients.

Duties (include but are not limited to)

  • Relationship Management of a portfolio of Clients
  • To act as a bridge between business and academia
  • To undertake Skills Needs Analysis and agree action plans
  • To signpost businesses to skills providers
  • To build a strong relationship and work with ECC Business Skills Team
  • To develop locally based sector skills groups
  • To engage businesses with the Careers Network and actively encourage work experience opportunities
  • To respond to enquiries in a timely manner, identify best support path and ensuring non duplication of business support
  • To populate and update CRM
  • Additional duties include promotion of Essex to key influencers who will assist in promoting and developing the county.
  • To undertake such other tasks as considered appropriate by your Line Manager or Chief Executive

Person Specification

  • Experience of advising on training/learning and development of staff and creating learning plans/training solutions.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, but also self-motivated to work alone in a peripatetic capacity.
  • Ability to work with a range of people including the general public, partners and public sector colleagues.
  • Ability to assimilate new information readily and to apply it practically.
  • The ability to work to deadlines, with good time management and efficient work patterns.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.

Driving Licence required: Yes
