Teaching Assistant

- Job Type: Part-time – 8.45am – 12.00pm every day (Long-term supply with potential for permanent)
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our nursery/reception class team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early childhood education and looking to make a significant impact in the formative years of young learners. The position starts in January 2025 and offers the potential to become a permanent role.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist in the delivery of daily activities and lessons designed for nursery and reception-aged children.
- Support the class teacher in preparing educational materials and classroom setup.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Engage with children individually and in groups, facilitating learning and play activities.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
- Assist with the organisation and storage of learning resources and materials.
- Ensure the health and safety of children is maintained during all activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with nursery and reception-aged children.
- Strong understanding of early years educational needs and classroom management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and teaching support.
- Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are preferred but not essential.
