Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - SEND School - Ormskirk

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? About the Role

We are seeking a skilled HLTA to work closely with teachers, support staff, and pupils to deliver high-quality education and care. This role involves working with children and young people aged 5-19 who have a range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and associated learning challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering tailored interventions and activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Leading small group sessions or working 1:1 to support learning and development.
  • Providing support in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Assisting in creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to support pupil's holistic development.
What We're Looking For
  • A Level 4 or equivalent HLTA qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, adaptable attitude.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).
