Job SummaryJoin our dynamic client and innovative organisation as a Financial Controller! In this pivotal role, you'll oversee the financial health and operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic budgeting. You'll be a key player in managing project finances, optimising cash flow, and supporting sustainable growth in the thriving construction and renewables sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Analyse financial data to provide insights for decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess financial performance.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, aligning with department heads to meet company objectives.
  • Prepare financial forecasts, especially for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Identify variances between actual results and forecasts, recommending corrective actions.
  • Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity for operations and project execution.
  • Optimise working capital through effective management of accounts payable, receivable, and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risk.
  • Track project costs and profitability to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior management on financial strategies for growth.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performing culture.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Proven background within financial management, preferably within the renewable energy or construction sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Expertise in financial reporting standards and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Certified accountant qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is preferred but not essential depending on experience.
