Carriera is pleased to be partnering with a highly respected consultancy located just south of London to find an experienced Senior CDM Advisor/Principal Designer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and knowledgeable health and safety professional with a strong background in design and construction, eager to join an award-winning, multi-disciplinary practice.

Role Overview:

As a Senior CDM Advisor/Principal Designer, you will provide expert CDM/Principal Designer support and advice to multi-disciplinary design teams and clients throughout the design and pre-construction phases of a wide range of projects. Your role will be crucial in ensuring compliance with the statutory duties outlined in the CDM Regulations 2015.

You will work closely with various design disciplines to plan, manage, and coordinate health and safety during the pre-construction stage. You'll also share your CDM expertise across all professions, develop and deliver essential CDM documentation, and manage all aspects of the Principal Designer role as defined by the CDM 2015 Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive CDM/Principal Designer support to design teams and clients.
  • Ensure all projects comply with CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to plan and coordinate health and safety during pre-construction.
  • Develop and deliver core CDM documentation, including significant hazard and risk registers, design risk management, and PCI packs.
  • Manage all aspects of the Principal Designer role, ensuring best practices are followed.

About You:

  • Ideally, you hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction qualification, along with a design/construction qualification.
  • Membership in IOSH and APS is preferred.
  • Significant experience in a similar role, with a strong construction background and deep knowledge of design and construction health and safety.
  • Thorough understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations and other relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Expertise in compiling and reviewing significant hazard and risk registers, design risk management, and PCI packs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to thrive in a client-facing role.
  • Ambitious, driven, and eager to contribute to the growth and development of the business and the team.
