We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Quality Assurance Officer on behalf of our client, an import, warehousing and distribution business. As a Quality Assurance Officer you will befocused on ensuring the safety and compliance of goods in accordance with UK and EU regulations. You will be dealing with toys and other children'sgoods, therefore knowledge and interestin toy safety regulations are highly desireable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all products meet UK and EU safety standards
  • Reviewing and interpreting safety standards, regulations, and product documentation to ensure compliance with UK/EU legislation
  • Maintaining and updatingcompliance records for all products, ensuring documentation is complete and up-to-date
  • Preparing product safety reports and liaisingwith manufacturers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Conducting internal audits and inspections to verify that goods meet the necessary safety standards
  • Tracking regulatory changes and new guidelines, updatingthe buying team on any relevant changes
  • Investigating safety incidents or product recalls and generating reports
  • Actively engaging in the day-to-day activities of the business

As a Quality Assurance Officer you will have:

  • Knowledge or interest in toy safety regulations, standards, and testing requirements (e.g., EN71).
  • Prior experience in compliance, quality assurance, or safety management
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with product compliance databases or safety management systems is a plus.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
