Objective

As the Electrical Design Engineer, you will assist in coordinating effective and economic plant design and procurement strategies. This role is crucial in ensuring timely information flow for construction, commissioning, and operation, in line with the contract programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Management:
    • Ensure project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowances.
    • Ensure timely applications for payment.
    • Complete and submit contract reviews and monthly forecasts on time.
  • Client and Team Relations:
    • Maintain good client relationships at all levels.
    • Assist with the Project Management strategy.
    • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and site management on design and procurement issues.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Establish and maintain contract filing systems.
    • Produce and monitor the contract programme and progress reports.
    • Provide data for O&M manuals and construction completion documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Participate in external networking and professional development.
    • Evaluate and implement innovative solutions.
    • Contribute to risk and opportunity schedules.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure designs are safe to construct, commission, operate, and maintain.
    • Maintain confidentiality and present a professional image of the department and Company.
About The Candidate

Essential:

  • Basic engineering background.
  • Working knowledge of various conditions of contract, especially NEC.
  • Engineering/Technical qualification (minimum HNC).
  • Experience with supply chain expedition.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • CDM and Health & Safety knowledge.

Desirable:

  • Relevant professional qualification.
  • Collaborative approach.

This role is integral to the successful delivery of projects, ensuring economic and efficient plant design and procurement while maintaining strong client and team relationships.
