Position: Process Operator/Plant Operator - Clean Water Site

Location: Shropshire

Rate Guide: 400.00 Per Day (Outside IR35)

Duration: 12 months+

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for United Utilities.

They are looking to recruit 4 Process/Plant Operators for a key water project near Oswestry on a contract for 12 months+. Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Responsibility for process monitoring of the new plant
  • Daily monitoring of the process operating parameters (MLSS, SSVI, final effluent analyses, sludge thickener performance, sludge, chemicals)
  • Daily monitoring of equipment (oxidation ditch (inducers, blowers, instruments, ferric, caustic, sludge thickeners, etc)
  • Monitoring of analysers, recalibration of instruments, ordering of reagents
  • Adjustment of process parameters to maintain performance
  • Supporting the Process Commissioning Engineer
  • Consultation with client, suppliers and the process team
  • Regular meetings with United Utilities regarding progress, performance, etc.
  • Complete Daily logs
  • Ordering of chemicals as required (including ferric, caustic, poly, reagents, cuvettes for sampling analyses)
  • Taking deliveries of chemicals
  • Assisting the site team with shutdowns, access, etc.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Knowledge of water/wastewater processes
  • Maintenance or operating background and experience of fixed and mobile plant would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of relevant treatment processes would be advantageous
