Medium sized accountancy practice based in Otley are recruiting for a Semi Senior level accountant to join their growing team. Offering circa £30k, flexible start times, 22 days plus bank holiday, study support, and a great office environment

Semi Senior Accountant Job Overview
  • This position is based in the companies Otley office, but can occasionally involve visiting their Wetherby office, and visiting clients within Yorkshire
  • Preparation of limited company year-end accounts together with the company corporation tax computation to a standard for partner review.
  • Preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts along with their tax returns
  • The personal tax return preparation will have the full support of our internal personal tax manager.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts for companies both in the office and at client premises often to tight deadlines
  • Ability to review bookkeeping and VAT returns prepared by others and identify mistakes and improvements.
Semi Senior Accountant Job Requirements
  • Must have a UK driving license and be able to have full time access to a car
  • Must have experience of working with small and medium sized companies and small businesses along with at least 2 years experience working in a small accountancy practice. Ideally AAT qualified or part qualified ACCA.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft products, excel and word etc
  • Must have a good working knowledge and experience using xero and sage primarily, as this is essential to the role. A working knowledge of Quickbooks would be an advantage
  • This is a client facing role both in the office, on the phone and at client premises. Candidate must have confidence to speak with clients directly
  • All aspects of the role will have senior management and / or director support
Semi Senior Accountant Salary & Benefits
  • Competitive salary, circa £30k - can be higher dependant on experience
  • Basic working hours of 37.5 hours per week 9am-5:30pm with one hour lunch
  • Flexible start time between 8am and 9am, and an earlier finish of 4:30pm and 5:30pm
  • 22 days holiday, plus bank holidays
  • Potential for study support, agreed after probation, on ACCA or CIMA
  • People pension scheme
