Elevation Recruitment are currently working with a global manufacturing business at the heart of British Manufacturing in West Yorkshire. With a long history of developing specialist machinery and equipment for various sectors across the world, the team work closely with manufacturing teams to create market leading, bespoke solutions. Due to growth in 2024 and predicted growth across years to come, the team are looking to add an experienced Project Manager to one of their specialist divisions. 

Project Manager Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from initiation through completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and customer satisfaction
  • Identify and address project risks, monitor budgets, and communicate any cost changes to the General Manager
  • Plan project objectives, define roles, set schedules, and establish timelines
  • Select, lead, and manage internal teams and external partners or suppliers
  • Ensure health and safety compliance, creating necessary documentation (e.g., RAMS, certifications) across all project stages
  • Track and report project progress to stakeholders, providing regular updates on current status and future planning
  • Develop and maintain thorough project documentation throughout the lifecycle
  • Facilitate a smooth handover to the site manager, coordinating introductions with the customer
  • Oversee the installation phase, ensuring all resources (parts, labor, tools, and documentation) are prepared
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project installation meets specifications
  • Support the Technical Engineer with site surveys, risk analysis, and overall project organization
  • Manage on-site activities during installations when needed
  • Produce completion reports to confirm project work aligns with scope and meets customer satisfaction
  • Conduct post-project reviews with clients and internal teams to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Occasionally support service visits and inspections, with flexibility for other business-required duties

Project Manger Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in project management within a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred
  • Relevant project management qualifications or substantial technical project management experience
  • Strong skills in interpreting technical drawings, schemes, and project-related documents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project (or similar tools) for project tracking and monitoring
  • Solid IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Customer-focused with strong problem-solving abilities to maintain project progress
  • Effective under pressure, with a proactive approach to decision-making and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with suppliers and customers
  • Valid UK driver’s license with minimal penalty points, and flexibility for travel within the UK
