What Awaits You?
As an Environmental Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of driving the commitment to sustainability. You will:
- Lead environmental initiatives across manufacturing locations, advising teams at all levels to ensure balanced outcomes for both the business and the environment.
- Influence the environmental strategies by adapting regional guidelines and ensuring legal compliance across diverse sectors.
- Anticipate and respond to changes in legislation and external factors, proactively ensuring the client stays ahead of the curve.
- Conduct audits of management systems, including second-party international audits, ensuring we meet ISO 14001 standards.
- Provide expert advice on environmental protection, supporting the legal entity Directors and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Keep the business at the cutting edge of environmental regulations and best practices.
Qualifications & ExperienceTo thrive in this role, you will have:
- A strong technical background in environmental science, biology, geology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience operating within ISO 14001 certified management systems and a solid understanding of Environmental Permitting Regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of UK environmental legislation and safety practices, with the ability to navigate complex regulations.
- The ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders, ensuring successful implementation of environmental initiatives.
- Experience in managing sites requiring permits and liaising with local authorities or environmental agencies.
