What Awaits You?

As an Environmental Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of driving the commitment to sustainability. You will:

  • Lead environmental initiatives across manufacturing locations, advising teams at all levels to ensure balanced outcomes for both the business and the environment.
  • Influence the environmental strategies by adapting regional guidelines and ensuring legal compliance across diverse sectors.
  • Anticipate and respond to changes in legislation and external factors, proactively ensuring the client stays ahead of the curve.
  • Conduct audits of management systems, including second-party international audits, ensuring we meet ISO 14001 standards.
  • Provide expert advice on environmental protection, supporting the legal entity Directors and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Keep the business at the cutting edge of environmental regulations and best practices.

Qualifications & ExperienceTo thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A strong technical background in environmental science, biology, geology, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience operating within ISO 14001 certified management systems and a solid understanding of Environmental Permitting Regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK environmental legislation and safety practices, with the ability to navigate complex regulations.
  • The ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders, ensuring successful implementation of environmental initiatives.
  • Experience in managing sites requiring permits and liaising with local authorities or environmental agencies.
