We have an opportunituy for a Regional SHE ManagerĀ with an award-winning civil engineering & Groundworks Contractor in Oxford who specialise in residential housing projectsĀ .
Our client has been founded since 1995 and continue to expand after many years of overwhelming success. They now boost 7 regional offices and a turnover approaching Ā£250m, supported by a strong management team, many of whom joined the company as trainees and have worked their way up.
The role ā Regional SHE Manager
This civil engineering contractor are searching for a hard working and driven SHE Manager to cover their Oxford sites and surrounding area.
You will also be managing a H & S Advisor.Ā
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
ā¢ Promote safe working practices across the region and monitor compliance with current legislation.
ā¢ Manage the Safety Advisors within your region and undertake joint site visits, provide advice, guidance, support and development. Review documentation and give guidance where necessary.
ā¢ Use data analytics from our management system and information from investigation reports to spot trends, areas of concern, develop and manage the risk management system in the Region.
ā¢ Promote health and safety awareness and responsibilities throughout the region.
ā¢ Lead on Principle Contractor jobs, provide good advice and guidance on company compliance with legislation and company procedure. Assess needs during the lifecycle of the project.
ā¢ Assist the regions with identification of regional training needs liaising with the Health and Safety Admin Manager, deliver company safety presentations and development of other regional staff to further their knowledge of company Health and Safety requirements. Develop and deliver Health and Safety training across the region when necessary.
ā¢ Embed a consistent āsafety first approachā from the ground up, promoting accident prevention and safe working practices as a priority.
ā¢ Undertake serious accident investigation with appropriate follow up measures. Review reports with the company SHE Manager.
ā¢ Liaise with statutory bodies, company legal advisors and insurers when required.
ā¢ Review client procedures making sure they are documented on the client register and communicated to the Health and Safety Team, Construction and Commercial Teams as necessary.
ā¢ Represent the company externally at briefings, site meetings, investigations and audits. ā¢ Monitor, audit and promote safe working practices with our sub-contractors.
ā¢ Update the Regional Board of current and emerging legislation and best practice guidance on groundworks Health and Safety liaising with the company SHE Manager on a regular basis.
Requirements: ā¢Ā NEBOSH or other relevant qualification.
ā¢ Experience as a Safety Advisor or manager in groundworks or construction.
ā¢ Experiences in creating safety policies, RAMS and CPPās. ā¢ Experience in compliance audit and advisory visits.
ā¢ Knowledge of relevant Statutory regulations.
ā¢ Knowledge of plant & equipment used on site, its application and maintenance.
ā¢ Understanding and knowledge of construction methods within civils and housing. ā¢ High level of skill with policy creation and interpretation.
ā¢ Be able to develop the H&S Advisors under your management with regular CPD reviews
