Your local Summertown Primary school in Oxford is recruiting to expand their team and hire multiple applicants for a Classroom Assistant role, to focus on the SEN students in the school. To hire multiple candidates for the 1:1 positions. This is a growing department and focus to improve the educational support with pupils with Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD and other physical or learning disabilities.
Some of the students that require a 1:1 Classroom Assistant for additional support and 1:1 interventions in the afternoon include:
- Year 2 student, with ASD struggles to socialise with the other students due to aversions to loud noise. He will prefer to wear ear defenders when he gets overwhelmed and need to be taken outside the classroom.
- Year 5 student - ADHD suspected and has challenges with focus.
- Year 1 student - has Down Syndrome and is a wheelchair user. Requires limited personal care such as assisting going to the toilet.
- Year 5 student - Challenging behaviour - this student responds well to a male members of staff or someone that is excellent with behaviour management.

- £83.50 - £90 per day
- Full-time Mon-Fri 8.30am to 4pm
- Ideal for candidates with experience in SEN, particularly ASD
Oxford graduates are welcome to apply.
Experience:
- 2 years working in a SEN specialist school, primary, secondary or similar childcare setting in Oxford or anywhere in the UK.
Qualifications:
- GCSE's in Maths and English (C/4 or above)
- A fully approved/valid clear enhanced DBS check is required.
- Team Teach (desired)
- ASD/Autism courses or relevant SEN courses
- Driving licence (preferred)
