Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking aSenior Electrical Engineerwith expertise inCombined Heat and Power (CHP) systemsto support the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical infrastructure withinAnaerobic Digestion (AD) facilities. This role focuses onpower management, off-grid solutions, and grid integrationto ensure seamless and reliable operation of renewable energy plants.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Engineer include:

  • Design and specifypower distributionandFEEDsystems for AD facilities, with a focus on CHP.
  • Overseegrid connection processes, working closely withDNOs and transmission operators.
  • Manage11kV power transmissionand developLV distribution systemstailored to AD plants.
  • Leadoff-grid power managementsolutions for sites with limited grid capacity.
  • Design and troubleshootCHP-based power systems, ensuring reliability in varying load conditions.
  • Implementbackup power strategies, optimisingpower management systemsto handle high-demand scenarios.
  • Providehands-on site supervision, resolving technical challenges during installation and commissioning.
  • Work ongas-to-power projects, integrating large gas engines to supplement limited grid power.
  • Collaborate with teams to developresilient and efficient power solutionsfor AD and biogas facilities.
  • Travel acrossmultiple UK sitesto oversee projects and troubleshoot site-specific issues.

Requirements

  • Strong background in CHP systems, particularly in AD or biogas applications.
  • Expertise in power management, off-grid solutions, and backup power strategies.
