As demand for our client's expertise continues to grow, they have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their highly experienced engineering team based in Oxford.

Diverse projects span various sectors, including education, commercial, high-end residential, retail, industrial, and leisure. The role offers exposure to multiple industries and cultures and will see you taking on responsibilities for electrical building services design, as well as overseeing quality control of installations on-site-sometimes outside the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a design team to deliver projects from feasibility through to completion and handover.
  • Work closely with professionals such as clients, architects, structural engineers, surveyors, and contractors, both in-house and externally.
  • Participate in project group and technical meetings to drive progress.
  • Ensure all building systems meet health and safety regulations and legislative requirements.
  • Advise clients and architects on energy efficiency and conservation across various sites, with a focus on reducing environmental impact and carbon footprint.
  • Design site-specific electrical equipment as needed.
  • Conduct technical reviews of contractors' proposals and perform on-site inspections for installation and maintenance procedures.
  • Utilize specialist software (e.g., CAD, BIM (Revit), Trimble (Amtech), Revit, Dialux) to design systems tailored to each project.

Skills and Experience:

To succeed in this role, you will need an accredited degree or higher qualification in Building Services Engineering and significant experience in a similar role.

Ideally, you will be chartered or working towards chartered status with a relevant institution. Strong communication skills are essential, as well as ambition, attention to detail, and organizational skills - if you can bring these, you will thrive in this role.

This position also requires security clearances, so a UK passport and the ability to travel are essential.
