The Role

The College School is seeking to appoint a highly-qualified, experienced and inspirational individual to the role of Usher.

The Usher is the Senior Deputy Head, leading the day-to-day operation of the school, deputising for the Master, and working closely with her to develop whole school strategy. The Usher leads the School’s pastoral care and disciplinary processes, oversees the School’s co-curricular programme, and has responsibility for managing staff conduct.

The Usher will have a proven track record of commitment to and an understanding of operational and strategic leadership, along with experience of managing, coordinating and developing the work of teaching and support staff.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Be a well-qualified graduate of Subject or a related discipline;     
  • Be willing to contribute to other areas of school life, such as games, music, drama, CCF or other activities               
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a wider team   
  • Support the progress of all pupils studying Subject by taking a role in departmental support, enrichment and partnerships sessions
