Cost Manager
An award winning, property and construction consultancy is seeking a Cost Manager to join their team in Oxford. The role will be a keypart in the continued growth of the service particularly in the retail and banking sector. General cost management experience and skills are required however there areopportunitiesto work alongside our specialist team of mechanical and electrical Cost Managers for you todevelop knowledge and skills in this specialist area.
Role & Responsibilities of the Cost Manager:
- Assist in the evaluation of costs and advise on alternative proposals
- Assist on contract arrangements and conditions under which building will be constructed
- Assist on implications of different construction methods, materials etc
- Provide assistance with the undertaking of pre and post contract work for both End User Clients and Contractors / Sub-Contractors
- Working on energy reduction and sustainability innovations and roll outs
Skills & Experience of the Cost Manager:
- Numerical / maths skills and excellent literacy
- Ability to use your own initiative
- Confidence and good communication skills
- Interestin using computers for design work, calculations, and testing designs
- A passion for building your career within construction / design
