Finance Manager (Assurance & Compliance) - Oxford (1 day a week on site) - Salary £60,000 to £70,000
We are excited to be working in conjunction with our clients in Oxford as they look to fill this rather niche role!
You will be responsible for overseeing financial assurance processes, developing and implementing fraud prevention strategies, and ensuring the integrity of financial operations.
You'll need to have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at safeguarding the organisation's financial resources.
You'll be looking after a team of four, with two direct reports.
Day to day you can expect to be....
- Managing the annual financial self-assurance programme of activity to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Developing & maintaining robust financial assurance frameworks and internal controls
- Identifying area of financial risk through comprehensive assurance maps and implement mitigation strategies.
- Monitor compliance with financial policies, including expense approval and purchasing procedures.
- Evaluate the internal controls and recommend improvements if required.
- Work alongside internal & external Auditors to facilitate Audit processes and address findings.
- Look to design and implement fraud prevention and detection programmes and annual plan.
- Maintain high level fraud risk assessments to provide an overview of the main risks and challenges facing the organisation and ensuring that there are detailed risk assessments in place that cover specific functions and departments.
- Conduct investigations into suspected fraud cases and where appropriate ensure sanctions are applied.
- Help develop fraud awareness training programmes for employees.
- Establish and update policies and procedures related to financial assurance and fraud prevention.
- Prepare detailed reports on financial assurances
About you....
- Qualified or or working towards a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA or CIMA but also of interest would be individuals with CFE/CIPFA qualifications.
- Experience in financial assurance, audit, compliance, and/or counter fraud roles.
- Proficiency in financial software and data analysis tools.
