Description
- Oversee the Accounting & Finance Department and ensure smooth operations.
- Direct management of two Accounts Officers.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the institution's objectives.
- Prepare and analyse financial reports and forecasts.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and financial risk management.
- Responsible for the production of management accounts for review
- Manage budgeting and planning processes.
- Liaise with stakeholders and provide financial insight.
- Draft the annual accounts for review and for audit and take the lead in dealing with day-to-day questions from the auditors.
- Prepare the draft annual accounts for the subsidiary companies.
- Reconcile and journal investment portfolio movements on a quarterly basis.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve the institution's goals.
Profile
A successful Finance Manager should have:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Proven experience in financial management within a smaller organisation.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Good knowledge of financial software and databases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent IT skills with a good knowledge of MS Office, good Excel skills are important
- Flexible attitude and ability to work under pressure when necessary
- Strong technical skills and experience of preparing annual accounts for audit
- Experience of preparing management accounts with related analysis and commentary
- A pro-active and resourceful individual who has a hands-on approach
