This exciting role is for a Finance Manager who will be responsible for leading the Accounting & Finance Department in a Not For Profit organisation based in Oxford. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled and committed to driving the financial health and growth of the organisation.

Description

  • Oversee the Accounting & Finance Department and ensure smooth operations.
  • Direct management of two Accounts Officers.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the institution's objectives.
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports and forecasts.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and financial risk management.
  • Responsible for the production of management accounts for review
  • Manage budgeting and planning processes.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and provide financial insight.
  • Draft the annual accounts for review and for audit and take the lead in dealing with day-to-day questions from the auditors.
  • Prepare the draft annual accounts for the subsidiary companies.
  • Reconcile and journal investment portfolio movements on a quarterly basis.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve the institution's goals.

Profile

A successful Finance Manager should have:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in financial management within a smaller organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Good knowledge of financial software and databases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills with a good knowledge of MS Office, good Excel skills are important
  • Flexible attitude and ability to work under pressure when necessary
  • Strong technical skills and experience of preparing annual accounts for audit
  • Experience of preparing management accounts with related analysis and commentary
  • A pro-active and resourceful individual who has a hands-on approach
