We are seeking an excellent Accountant to join a thriving Accounting & Finance department in a College in Oxford. The successful candidate will ideally have a solid background in accounting, with an ability to navigate complex financial scenarios.

Based on site ( Parking is available)
Office 4 days per week, 1 day from home
Under the supervision of the Controller, the Management Accountant/ Finance Manager is the accountable party for executing budgeting, ongoing forecasting and variance analysis and reporting. This will involve periodic interfacing with other heads of departments and understanding College key priorities and activities.
You will support the Controller in all endowment administration activities, including reviewing of relevant accounting entries, working with external service providers including banks, fund managers and investment advisors.
You will be assigned direct responsibilities for project accounting activities in College subsidiaries where development and capex projects take place.
Under the supervision of the College Accountant, you will also be involved in the taxation affairs of the College, VAT, PAYE and Corporation tax as required.
This position will also be involved in financial process reviews, data analysis and ad hoc projects from time to time.
Profile
A successful candidate should have:
- An accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) ( or qualified by experience )
- Experience working in a Management accounting/ Finance Manager role
- Demonstrate you have progressed within a business
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent Business Partnering experience
- A proactive approach to work
- Ideally experience of Endowments
