This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a thriving Oxford-based organisation dedicated to celebrating the power of culture and creativity. As part of a small but engaged team, you will oversee financial operations, support decision-making at a senior level, and ensure financial sustainability in a mixed-income environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on financial management, overseeing income streams from ticket sales, retail, fundraising, and commercial activities.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, quarterly VAT returns, and funder reports.
  • Manage cashflow, budgeting, and forecasting, providing insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare financial reports for the Finance & Estates Committee and collaborate with auditors.
  • Support and develop the Finance Assistant, ensuring a smooth-running finance function.
  • Play a key role in an upcoming capital project focused on sustainability initiatives.

This role offers a salary of up to £42,000 FTE and is offered on a highly flexible part-time basis (three days per week). Based in Oxford, the organisation offers free tickets, shop and café discounts, and a collaborative, creative working environment.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience Accountant with strong financial management experience.
  • Have a background in the charity, cultural, or visitor attraction sectors, with an understanding of restricted and unrestricted funding.
  • Be confident in statutory accounts, management accounting, and cashflow forecasting.
  • Possess strong communication skills, able to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ideally have experience managing a direct report and knowledge of Sage (desirable but not essential).
