Robertson Bell is proud to be working with a well-regarded educational institution to recruit a School Finance Manager on a permanent basis. This is a crucial role within the leadership team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the school’s financial operations, support strategic decision-making, and help deliver the best outcomes for students through effective resource management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on budget setting and financial planning in collaboration with senior leaders.

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, monitoring financial performance, and completing reconciliations.

  • Overseeing payroll checks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.

  • Supporting the development and implementation of efficient financial systems and procedures.

  • Managing and developing finance staff, providing guidance and day-to-day oversight.

  • Acting as a key contact for auditors and supporting the school’s readiness for inspections and financial reviews.

This role is based across two school sites with a hybrid working arrangement and offers a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll benefit from a strong pension scheme, generous leave entitlement, and excellent professional development opportunities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be AAT Level 4 qualified or hold a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).

  • Have experience working in the education sector, ideally in a school or Multi-Academy Trust.

  • Demonstrate strong budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis skills.

  • Be proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.

  • Have experience managing or supporting finance staff.

  • Be a confident communicator, able to work effectively with stakeholders across the school community.
