A prestigious Oxford-based College is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Human Resources to lead and shape its HR function. This newly created, senior leadership position offers a rare opportunity to drive strategic initiatives, oversee a skilled HR team, and influence the people agenda across a diverse workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and manage an HR team delivering services across academic and non-academic areas.
  • Advise senior leadership on all HR matters, including recruitment, retention, employee relations, and reward strategies.
  • Implement a modern, solution-focused HR strategy that supports organisational goals.
  • Oversee complex ER casework, employment policy development, and legal compliance.
  • Champion initiatives promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a key advisor and secretary to the institution’s HR Committee.

About You:

  • Proven strategic HR leadership experience, ideally within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Exceptional knowledge of UK employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Skilled at influencing senior stakeholders and driving organisational change.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making abilities and HR project management skills.
  • Degree-educated, with Chartered or Fellow CIPD membership.
  • Experience in higher education is advantageous.
