Interim HR Officer

Position: Interim HR OfficerPay: £14.50-16.50 per hourLocation: Central Oxford (Hybrid - 2/3 days in the office maximum)Duration: 2-3 month assignment starting in January 2025

Reed HR are pleased to be supporting an educational establishment with an interim requirement for a HR Officer, to join them for a period of 2-3 months. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will work within a team of three to provide an effective HR service to the organisation, acting as the first point of contact on any day to day people matters. 

Responsibilities

  • Advise line managers and staff on HR matters, using appropriate communication methods.
  • Provide administrative support, including note-taking at formal meetings and supporting HR projects.
  • Manage recruitment processes, including job advertisements, shortlisting, and visa documentation.
  • Administer casual worker processes and prepare standard HR documents.
  • Plan and conduct induction sessions for new staff.
  • Monitor and maintain personnel records, ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll procedures and Home Office regulations for visas.

To be considered, you ideally will have: 

  • Previous experience within an administratively focused HR position, as HR Administrator, Assistant, Coordinator or Officer.
  • HR experience in higher education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and data protection.
