Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Town Planner with some professional experience to join the planning team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of planning regulations and policies, and be eager to contribute to a diverse range of projects. You will support senior planners in the preparation of planning applications, policy analysis, and providing expert advice on various urban planning matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals.
- Conduct research and analysis of planning policies, local development plans, and regulations.
- Support the development of planning strategies for a variety of projects, including housing, education, and heritage.
- Collaborate with other teams, including architects, urban designers, and project managers, to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Attend meetings with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders as required.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and planning documents.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A relevant planning degree (e.g. Town Planning, Urban Design, or similar).
- Some professional experience in town planning or a related field.
- Knowledge of planning legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Strong communication and written skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
