Non-Contentious Construction Lawyer (Freelance)

We are seeking a highly skilled non-contentious construction solicitor or barrister to support complex infrastructure projects on a freelance basis. You must hold a current practising certificate and have significant experience in drafting and advising on NEC and JCT contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive legal and procurement advice on high-value infrastructure projects.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate standard form construction contracts (JCT, NEC) and associated documents.

  • Advise on matters involving the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and Framework Agreements.

  • Work closely with public sector clients to navigate complex procurement issues.

  • Deliver commercially sound legal solutions under tight deadlines.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

Essential Requirements
  • UK-qualified solicitor or barrister with a valid practising certificate.

  • Proven track record in non-contentious construction law.

  • Strong understanding of public procurement, ideally including experience working with or advising local authorities or other public bodies.

  • Exceptional drafting and communication skills.

  • Able to manage complex caseloads autonomously.
