Known for delivering high-quality design and engineering solutions across a variety of sectors, the firm is looking for an experienced professional who can contribute to their ongoing success and development.Role Overview:The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in the delivery of technically sound and innovative mechanical design solutions. Working under the guidance of the Project Associate or Director, the successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the mechanical design process, from concept through to completion, while ensuring compliance with statutory and health and safety requirements.Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all mechanical/electrical project specifications meet their intended purpose and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor installation works on-site, ensuring the highest quality standards and contractor compliance with specifications.
  • Manage and liaise effectively with colleagues, design teams, and clients to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Support the development of team members through training, mentoring, and performance monitoring.
  • Attend and contribute to business development and fee tender meetings, supporting company growth initiatives.
  • Deliver projects in line with agreed timelines and budgets, while prioritising client satisfaction.
  • Supervise health and safety processes and conduct risk assessments as required.
  • Lead or participate in project and contract administration meetings, taking on a chairing role when necessary.
  • Delegate tasks efficiently to support project delivery under the direction of senior leadership.
  • Act as a role model, upholding high standards of professional practice across the team.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A solid background in mechanical engineering within a building services consultancy environment.
  • Experience in supervising teams, mentoring junior staff, and working closely with clients.
  • Strong technical and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
