LV Recruitment has partnered with an aspirational academic establishment based in the heart of Oxford and is recruiting for a part-time (28 hours per week) permanent Payroll & Finance Assistant to join their small and close-knit finance department. The work environment is friendly and positive with an excellent working culture.

As Payroll & Finance Assistant, you will work closely with the College Accountant, Finance Manager, HR, and other departments in College. Managing all aspects of the College’s payroll, including pensions and HMRC processing.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the monthly payrolls and RTI submissions from start to finish, including SSP, SPP, SMP, PAYE and National Insurance contributions
  • Reconcile bank accounts & donations
  • Working closely with HR to ensure that all personnel changes (starters and leavers, contractual changes, sick pay, annual leave etc) are processed accurately at each month end
  • Assist with other finance tasks as required by the College Accountant & Finance Manager
  • Preparation of all statutory HMRC reports, including year-end reports and returns

Experience

  • Recent experience working in a similar role;
  • Working knowledge of payroll and finance systems
  • Part-qualified, or qualified by experience, AAT or equivalent
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Team player with experience of working as part of a busy team
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure, when necessary.

The current salary range is £32,332- £38,205 Full time equivalent. The role is 28 hours per week, likely spread over three days and is based on site. We would love someone to join as soon as possible to be able to have a handover with the current member of staff.
