Reed Accountancy Oxfordshire are once again working with a prestigious University function who are seeking a dedicated Payroll & Finance Officer to join the team on a permanent basis. This role will be 28 hours per week (with opportunities for overtime) and is offering a salary of £33,000 (pro rata), 30 days annual leave (pro rata), flexible/hybrid working ( one day a week working from home ) excellent university pension scheme and the opportunity to join a close knit, settled finance function.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Management: Oversee the monthly payroll and RTI submissions, including SSP, SPP, SMP, PAYE, and National Insurance contributions.
  • New Starters: Finalise records for new employees, ensuring accurate input of bank details and application of annual leave schemes and allowances.
  • Pay Adjustments: Process any pay changes or adjustments that cannot be handled by the HR team via the HR system.
  • Leaver Process: Support the HR team in managing the leaver process, ensuring accurate closure of records and avoidance of overpayments.
  • Termination Payments: Process termination payments as instructed by the Head of Finance.
  • Pension Contributions: Submit pension contributions for OSPS, USS, and the Church of England pension schemes, including auto-enrolment and NEST.
  • Payroll Journal: Post the monthly payroll journal and reconcile all payroll control accounts.
  • Budget Setting: Collate payroll data for annual budget setting in collaboration with the Head of Finance.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in payroll management and finance. You will be a detail-oriented professional with a passion for payroll and finance, with strong communication skills and able to sit in a close knit finance function, this could be the ideal fi for you. This role is located in Central Oxford and does not have parking.
