Role: EHS Programme Manager

Rate: 400 - 500 P/day OUTSIDE IR35
Our client, a world leader in the design and manufacture of superconducting magnets for MRI body scanners, are currently building a new facility to help support consistent growth.
Construction started in April 2024, with building handover to MT planned for Dec 2025. MT's fit-out will run for six months to June 2026, when operational ramp-up will start. It is envisaged that the project will be formally closed once snagging and operational stability has been demonstrated in early 2027.
Our client are looking for an EHS Programme Manager to support the current EHS team, experienced EHS professional to manage the activities related to the applicability of the current EHS management system at the new facility. The project is divided into functional sub-workstreams, and this role would lead the EHS related activities reporting progress into the overall steering board of the new facility project. The current EHS team at MT currently manage all related activities relating to the existing facilities and would support tasks relating to the new facility in line with the requirements of the sub-workstream plan. With a small EHS team it may be necessary that as part of the role some activities may be completed by the program manager.
1. Technical Skills
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, ISO standards 45001 and 14001, and other relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Incident Investigation: Expertise in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Safety Audits and Inspections: Experience conducting regular inspections and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Environmental Compliance: Proficiency in waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
2. Analytical Skills
- Structured planning: Strong critical thinking to enable the development of a robust EHS plan to support the delivery of all EHS related activities.
3. Leadership and Management Skills
- Team Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate within a cross-functional team.
- Program Development: Experience designing and implementing EHS programs, policies and activities.
- Project Management: Skills to manage multiple activities and budgets effectively including project risk management and timeline adherence.
- Decision-Making: Confidence in making informed decisions under pressure.
4. Communication Skills
- Training and Education: Expertise in conducting safety training and developing educational materials.
- Collaboration: Ability to work with employees at all levels, from executives to frontline workers including providing regular sub workstream progress updates to stakeholders.
- Written Communication: Skill in creating clear reports, manuals, and compliance documents.
- Conflict Resolution: Proficiency in addressing and resolving disputes or concerns regarding EHS issues.
